A source of organic matter and a carbon reservoir for hundreds of years, it retains water, binds nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus, removes toxic substances and pollutants from both soil and wastewater, and provides a natural habitat for fungi and bacteria…

Are All Biochars the Same?

Not at all. Biochars are NOT all the same. Unfortunately, most manufacturers do not differentiate between biochars. Their qualities depend on the source of the feedstock, manufacturing conditions, pore size and internal salt content… Their properties can differ dramatically, with entirely opposite effects.

What Are Designer or Tailor-Made Biochars?

Biochar is a “living” and “adaptable” molecule. While its carbon framework remains unchanged (making it an excellent carbon reservoir), both its internal structure and surface reactivity can be adapted to the specific needs of each use.
